The new Sunday Donut: The Sunday Something #1

Hello everyone!
Happy 2016!

Sorry I’ve been MIA lately;
I took a break from social media,
and a slight break from reading
while my Dad was here visiting from the East Coast.
We went on so many trips and did so many things,
I’m tired again just thinking about it.

But now I’m back!
I’m reading (I think once every two weeks I’ll do the Friday Reads recap for you, don’t worry!)
and writing (lots of stuff!)
and I will be sharing a bunch of stuff here that I’m sharing on Instagram too. Think of it as the curated list of what I’ve shared.

I want to do some edits on the ole website too;
maybe in February.

Another change: The Sunday Donut is no more.
For now.
I sort of got sick of donuts!
And I wanted to try something new: videos!

So, without further ado,
here’s the first one!

Bye for now,

  1. I love it!

    At 8pm we were on the tram heading back to the Pinocchio parking lot. I totally forgot today was the last day before they begin construction on Star Wars Land. So it was insane. But we wanted to see the movie again and wanted to see it in iMax (sadly Tustin’s AMC does not have it because we went to Whole Foods afterwards ).

    We left the house around 3pm, figuring we had plenty of time to grab a bite before seeing the movie which started at 4:45. We got to Harbor and Ball to a sign reporting all theme park lots were full. This was a first for us. We’ve had Mickey & Friends be closed, but they really meant every single lot. So where do you park?!?

    We were redirected around the property and I was getting anxious we would miss the movie as it was nearing 4pm and no updates on Twitter. The roads were crazy because there is also the Anaheim Convention Center parking which was full as well.

    B managed to call the theater but they weren’t aware of the situation. They promised to call us back, but didn’t. They offered to refund the tickets, but by this point we were invested.

    So we made it back around to Mickey & Friends which was still closed. There is parking for Downtown Disney, which is technically where we were headed, so I turned right (even though they had blocked the turn lane), and somehow got directed into the secret entrance to the Pinocchio lot. There wasn’t even anyone at the ticket booth. We got a prime spot and hopped on a near empty tram.

    We managed to make it into the theater at 4:45! And B scored lunch along the way (shh…don’t tell we brought outside food into the theater). But at the part where Ray starts playing with the controls I got this feeling like I might have left the lights on the car. Now we already have the get a tow truck into Mickey & Friends badge, so I didn’t want to do it again.

    I confessed to B after the movie was over. He said well, at least we aren’t on the roof this time. We even grabbed a tea from Starbucks and popped into the gift store to look since there wasn’t anything that could be done if I had forgotten to turn off the headlights at that point.

    We were able to walk onto the tram (very rare). And were let off as close to the walkway as possible. And yeah! It was all in my head. I did turn the lights off. No call to AAA to say we were at Disneyland. We headed straight to Whole Foods without incident.

    Hoping you get to see your nephew in the morning. I’m excited to hear the ALA Youth Media Awards. Maybe “Ballet Cat” will take home the Geisel? That’s probably not a secret secret that I be rooting for Bob Shea. I’m hoping “Echo” gets the Newbery and “Last Stop on Market Street” for the Caldecott, although I liked “Leo” better. It’s been a great year for reading. Five and a half hours to go.
