The first book I think I read when I was younger. When I started reading it, I vaguely remembered some parts. I picked it up at a used book store when I brought in a few books I didn’t want. I have also read a book about the author, with GREAT writing tips. It was really fun to get inside her head. And she has a cabin in upstate NY. Cool.
The second book I saw recommended somewhere online, and then saw it at the library. Funny book! I knew I loved the illustrator but was new to this author, and then started looking more things up by her.
Reading Journal books 58 and 59 are:
The Great Gilly Hopkins by Katherine Patterson
and
Duck! Rabbit! by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Tom Lichtenheld
Note: Gilly’s face looked a lot better before the book closed…writing on the page from the other side lets the color seep into the other pictures….and since she was opposite the very mighty ultra red dinosaur, some rubbed off.
Coming up next on reading journal?
A book about a baby and a book about some coal.
No, not together. Two separate books.
until then, read and write on!
