Book 1: Clearly I take any book that has these two characters in it when I see it on the shelf in the library. This one didn’t even make it to the shelf; I was helping put books on carts to be put back out and snagged this one.
Book 2: I remember reading this one a lot when I was a preschool teacher. I even thought that Bear was making the sign for more, in sign language, on the cover. Maybe he is, maybe he isn’t? In my mind he is. I drew the picture I drew because all the kids loved that bear couldn’t get back in after eating all that food!
Book 3: Saw this one just hanging out and thought, “I read about that book somewhere…”<–as a side note, I am saying that almost constantly now. One of the side effects of reading as much as I do—-> I suppose, for a true illustration of the book, I should have cut up Reading Journal a bit, but he wouldn’t stand for that. Would you?
Book 4: This was another one, that I thought, “Hmm. Really. With a Read Hoodie?” And it was new, so I decided why not.
So, books 70-73 are:
There is a bird on your head! by Mo Willems
Bear wants more by Karma Wilson, illustrated by Jane Chapman
Lemons are not Red by Laura Vaccaro Seeger
and
Betsy Red Hoodie by Gail Carson Levine, illustrated by Scott Nash.
Whew. That’s a lot of books.
More on the way, thanks to operation catch-up!
Look for a new author (in a rather old book) and two more books from an author you know I love. Honestly I may just love the fact that I can draw his characters. But so can five year olds, so that’s not saying that much, is it…
until next time, read and write on,
