The first book was one that was recommended in another book I was reading, and I absolutely love it! It is actually on the floor of the place I am staying now, my temporary housing for the four weeks that I’m in school. I loved it so much that it was in my bag of essential books (10 or so, I really worked hard to get them down to a manageable number!) and I’m starting to re-read it for some good ideas for an upcoming project that may or may not involve poetry.
The second book is by an author/illustrator that I really love. The book is short and sweet, something that I aspire to!
The third book is by an author illustrator that I like too. I’ve read her book on how pictures work, and it will appear in the journal a little bit later. Love the illustrations on this one too!
The last book today was just one that I picked up on a library stroll. It’s funny and the illustrations are sweet as well. Lots of author/illustrators today!
So, reading journal books 89-92 are:
Poemcrazy by Susan Goldsmith Woolridge
Tom and Pippo and the washing machine by Helen Oxenbury
When Sophie gets Angry–really, really, angry… by Molly Bang
and
Put it on the list by Kristen Darbyshire
Whew! Almost done with February’s books, while still chugging along! I have to get reading to finish up June on a strong note, but just know that I am still on track! It may get a bit tricky in the upcoming weeks, since I am away from my library of choice, but I can find another one up here, hopefully.
In an effort to keep on chuggin, here are the next books:
A savvy sort of books for teens
A very hungry tale that I’m sure you all know
A Newbery with some french thrown in (that I did not expect but loved!)
Another book about the bear we just recently met
and a caldecott with many, many cats!
ok, until next time, read and write on!
