A month or so ago I started a project called the “Real Life Letter Project.”
I’ve sent out 17 letters to date, and got back three!
Not too bad of a ratio, really!
Here are a few of the cards I’ve sent out:
My co-worker and friend Jason Hammond is an awesome photographer and has amazing photo cards. The first five or six cards I sent out were his! Keep up the good work, Jason!
I LOVE the paper that folds up into a letter. I have some really cool animal ones, and sent a few of these out.
A locally owned bookshop near me has cards that are mostly locally made and are absolutely stunning. I rarely go in the store, because, when I do, I can’t resist buying at least one book and one card. And hey, that adds up! Occasionally I buy the cards there though.
And of course I started making some myself! The above is one I made using some old sticky-notes I found and a stamp pad for the fingerprint characters!
Here’s a few more cards I made:
Stamps that I made last year lend themselves to a lot of fun when making cards!
Another re-purpose. I’ve got so many prints of this sock monkey, it’s not even funny.
This is by far my favorite, and I may make a tutorial on how to make one! One of my friends could be in the CIA; her memory is that good. What better way to catch her up than send her a file containing all the information regarding my whereabouts and all the current developments?
I’ve received two nice letters and one AWESOME card my friend Lisa made me. Check it out:
The eggs nestle right into the nest, as does the bird! Genius!
For being the first person to mail me back, Erin Bradshaw Settevendemio is the winner of a fun prize: PIXAR Stamps!
Only one of each Erin, don’t get too excited! I don’t know if you can still buy these; I bought some and then the next time I tried to buy stamps all I could get were the Christmas and love ones….looking for more though!
So Sundays will be used for letter recaps, and occasionally some sketches from my sketchbook.
I hope you enjoy your Sunday, and why not write a letter to someone?
I’m sure they’d appreciate it.

Hi!
I started 2012 wanting to send letters to people. 🙂
I’ve already sent postcards to my family…
So glad to see your project!
