Nate Foster is 13 years old and has a big dream: of being on Broadway.
But Broadway’s a LONG way from Jankberg, PA,
where he gets teased at school for his love of showtunes.
Luckily he has his best friend Libby to help him with his lines
and support him.
When Libby finds out through Facebook
that ET the musical is holding auditions in NYC,
she and Nate come up with a plan to get him there on a bus.
If all goes well, he’ll go in, audition, and be back home before his parents
or older brother
even notice he’s gone.
Armed with a backpack filled with
a bag of money,
some donuts,
and a lucky rabbit’s foot,
Nate is off.
What will happen when he gets to NYC?
How will the auditions go?
And will he love NYC as much as he thought he would?
You will fall IN LOVE with Nate. That’s what I liked about this book; how funny, relatable, and real Nate is. I’ve never auditioned for anything but really got into this book. I listened to it on audio, with the author, Tim Federle reading, and it was great! He’s awesome at voices and I could listen to him all day long! The story was funny, with lots of twist and turns and highs and lows…it’s just plain awesome! Luckily there’s another one coming out any day now, so we can find out what happens! Go find this book and read it!
