31 in 31 Day 21: Max and Ruby and the Warthogs’ Wedding

31 in 31 picI was in a wedding once.
A flower girl at three years old I think.
But I was never in charge of the ring,
and good thing;
I would have lost it.
With no Iphone back then,
how would I have found my way around ? 🙂

Love the illustrations along the side, and the gobsmaker here. Max is such a typical younger brother!

There's the iBunny! You can open the flap and get to see on the map where the kids are. More illustrations on the side, and I love the fancy lady :)

Likes:
I really like the little IBunny phone flaps that show the map. Kids will love being able to point out where they should go next! And they’re SO SPARKLY!

Typical Max and Ruby. I love these siblings! They fight JUST enough to be believable J

The conflict about losing the ring drives the whole book!
The illustrations are bright and fun and I love the little illustrations running along the side of some pages to add more interest!

Learns:

Center your story around one conflict or quest and let us follow along with your characters as they go for it!

Use up that white space! Find places where illustrations can be added.

Flaps rock in a story where they’re needed. Do you have a story that could benefit from some fun flaps or something similar?

What did you read today?

I made a thank you note in preparation for tomorrow’s author.
Hint: He’s YA, and sometimes he can write about Uglies 🙂
I’m there to hear him talk about his new book though. Should be fun!

See you tomorrow,
KE
