Welcome to the page on my website about Big Blue LFL!

Here’s where I’ll share resources with you all about books and community.
Have something you’d like me to consider adding here or to the Little Free Library?

Loudoun County Public Libraries: The closest one to this LFL is the Cascades Branch.
They have an amazing 1000 books before Kindergarten program (scroll down on this page until you see Databases and Homeschool Resources) and lots of events.

Other libraries even have makerspaces where you can use machines to make things!

Goodwill where we’ve found lots of great books

Want to get things for free or giveaway things?
The Local Buy Nothing Group on Facebook is perfect for that. We’ve used this a lot to get clothes for the kids, books, and games, and we’ve given away a ton of stuff too! If you don’t live in Sterling, search where you live and Buy Nothing on Facebook to find your group!

Organizations I’ve been a part of in Loudoun County

Equality Loudoun: Equality Loudoun is a non-profit organization that advocates, educates, defends, and builds community to support LGBTQ+ equality in Loudoun County. They have a Queer Lit Book Club in Leesburg as well! Check it out!

Together We Will Loudoun: taking action to make sure Loudoun County elected positions are filled with people making change and good trouble and standing up for all of us.

Moms Demand Action is a grassroots movement of Americans fighting for public safety measures that can protect people from gun violence. The local chapter is awesome! I serve as their Welcome Call Leader. To join text GUNSENSE to 644-33. The app has great ways to get involved, and once you’re in you can be in this Facebook group to get info as well.

Loudoun4All are parents and local leaders mobilizing to create an equitable community for all who call Loudoun County home. They do a great job standing up for equity and inclusion around the community and at school board meetings.

I’m sure there are many more great organizations; I only have experience with these ones!
Feel free to share organizations that you’ve worked with with me at my email address listed above.

Find more Loudoun volunteer opportunities here!

More info to come soon.
Thanks for being here,

Kathy Ellen
