These next two books have animals as main characters.
I had seen the first before. I swear, somewhere, and when I saw it on the library cart that I was sorting through, I thought, “I should read this book, since I’ve seen it before.” So I read it, and I still have no idea where I heard of it from. But I liked it. As for the second book, this is another one that I read when I was younger. My mom is a big fan of the author, and I always liked how his stories were a bit scary.
So, books 24 and 25 are:
The Forever Dog by Bill Cochran, illustrated by Dan Andreasen
and
The Amazing Bone by William Steig
Forever dog:
- I think this book is really good to use when talking about losing a pet or even a person.
- Bring up memories of a pet you have lost…
Amazing bone:
- What would you do if you found an amazing bone?
- Make amazing bones and let them tell stories!
- Look up the vocab words in the book! He uses such awesome words!!
- Think of a song you would like to teach the amazing bone.
- Imagine you went to Pearl’s house and could talk to the amazing bone. What would you say or ask?
Ok friends. More reading and writing to do.
Until next time, read and write on!
