I love F. Scott.
I remember LOVING the Great Gatsby when I had to read it for AP English.
So much so that my mom remembered and bought me a really nice copy of it from a library book sale once.
“You really like this book, right?”
True story.
And I’ve always been curious about this curious case, but not curious enough to spend three hours watching Brad Pitt in the movie version. So when I got the library and there were no books to put away (GASP! Yes, that does happen I guess…) and they sent me to the graphic novel section to tidy it up, I stumbled across this graphic novel version. I got home and read it in an hour.
So, RJ book #43 is:
The curious case of Benjamin Button: A graphic Novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald, adapted by Nunzio DeFilippis and Christina Weir, illustrated by Kevin Cornell
Benjamin Button thoughts:
- This is a great book to think about how just changing one little thing makes such a big difference.
- Also, the idea of how we are taken care of when are older
- and the dynamics in families.
- Try drawing with just one color, like this book does. See what that does to your drawings
Coming to a reading journal near you next:
