Book 1: Author you know. Subject matter my mom knows very well (she loves cats!)
Book 2: Book borrowed from my friend while I was at her house waiting to hang out with her while she was putting her children to sleep. A rare “grown-up” book entry in reading journal.
Book 3: Inspired by those children that, in the last couple of sentences, were being put to sleep. Found it at the library the day after we read it together at their house. Isn’t it weird how things like that just happen?
Book 4: Had the adult version of this book and saw this book faced out at the library and though it could be comical. As usual, my hunch was right.
Books 66-69 are:
Castaway Cats by Lisa Wheeler, art by Ponder Goembel
The Probable Future by Alice Hoffman
Crictor by Tom Ungerer
and
Eats, Shoots, and Leaves. Why, Commas really do make a difference by Lynne Truss, illustrated by Bonnie Timmons.
Nice.
Try those books out.
You’ll absolutely love Crictor.
I mean, who doesn’t look at a snake and think about it trapping a robber?
Maybe that’s just where my imagination goes.
Ok, anyway…
Coming up next, we’ve got Mo’ Mo, a bear who wants more, some red lemons, then a red hoodie.
If you’re confused, so am I.
Just stop by tomorrow and see what it’ all about.
until next time, read and write on!
