84-88: Amos,Hiccup, Bear, and Traingamazoo!

Book 1: Just won the Caldecott for this year, and I really wanted to read it. Luckily found it at the library and snatched it up! Glad I did! The art in this one is great, and the character is so loveable!

Book 2: Actually saw the movie (GASP) before reading any books by this author, and decided to get this picture book when I spotted it on the shelves.

Book 3: The cover got me on this one, and the simple style of illustration.

Book 4: I had this book when I was teaching preschool. The kids loved it because of the illustrations and the colors, and how short the book was. We could read it over and over!

Book 5: This book is simply amazing. I saw it at a school library I was working at, then ended up buying it at their bookfair a few weeks after reading it from the library. Writing an entire novel in rhyme? AMAZING! And you don’t get sick of it at all, you just keep going. I actually read a few chapters aloud to a friend; it was that good!

So, books 84-88 are:

A sick day for Amos McGee by Philip C. Stead, illustrated by Erin E. Stead
Hiccup the seasick Viking by Cressida Cowell
Thank you Bear by Greg Foley
Freight Train by Donald Crews
Zorgamazoo by Robert Paul Weston, illustrations by Victor Rivas Villa

Amos and the owl...I love how the red from the previous page got on this one. Something that a sheet of tracing paper could fix, but I love the randomness!
Hiccup and Bear
Traingamazoo

Whew! Lots of books in one, though, I better get used to that, since I have a lot of catching up to do.
Let’s see…coming up next:

A book about writing poetry!
A book about a monkey (Singe Singe helped pick that one out!)
A book about getting angry….really really angry….
And a book about interesting food choices.

Should be fun!
See you then, and read and write on!
