The first book showed up on too many lists to count. Plus, you don’t have to twist my arm to get me to read a David Wiesner book, though this one had more words than I was used to! I love the message that it says about art though; that is should loosen you up, not be a set of rules you have to live and work by!
The second book is another Tom and Pippo story. I admire how complete yet short they are.
The third book is by an author/illustrator that I have loved since I was a kid, and I never read this one, so scooped it up really quick when I saw it at the library.
Fourth book was another random scoop at the library,
and the fifth book is another by Chris Van Allsburg.
So, Reading journal books 112-116 are as follows:
Art and Max by David Wiesner
Tom and Pippo go for a walk by Helen Oxenbury
Pezzetino by Leo Lionni
Someday by Eileen Spinelli, illustrated by Rosie Winstead
and
The Stranger by Chris Van Allsburg
Coming to a reading journal near you:
A Maurice Sendak book that you may not know,
another animal myth story,
a nice book with both Spanish and English,
and
more poems, this time about colors!
until next time,
read and write on!
