Brittle wins! Now on to round two….

First round, done!
Brittle officially wins! 

I was waiting for our town hall meeting to start at school when a classmate asked me,
“What happened, did you win?”

We only had about three minutes before our meeting started,
but I borrowed a friend’s phone and checked really fast.

“Oh yeah!” I said, high fiving my friend, and then started thanking everyone for their votes.

The feedback I got from most people was that it made them laugh, which I love.
I think there is nothing more cool than someone laughing at something that you’ve written.
It’s nice when you say something funny too, ( I got a lot of laughter for my project at school this weekend)
but when someone is quietly reading something and then busts out laughing?

Well, I just like that.

Here’s the poem in case you missed it:

The Rigorous Routine

She took off in a sprint,
and started tumbling fast.
cartwheel, roundoff, back flip,
into a split at last.

She held it for a second,
got up, and winced a little.
Then Grandma winked at me and said,
“Now who you callin’ brittle?”

It’s pretty much identical to what I came up with in my notebook:

Round two.
Word: towering.

This one took a little bit longer to figure out, but, looking back at my notes, I had the idea early on, just had to polish it up 🙂

I’ll post the notes tomorrow…that’s when the voting goes live!
I’m up against a formidable foe…I voted for Eric Ode’s poem first round! I’m sure he’ll come up with something great!
