Essential books for the summer!

So, as I’m packing up for the summer, I have to think:

“What are the essential books I need for my summer work?”
By the way, my summer work is doing a bunch of art and writing.

I can’t take all my picture books, and believe me, it’s tragic.
But they will be at my house still, and if I need to swing by, I can look at them.
Luckily the person moving into my room for the summer is letting me leave all my books, and even my art up!

So here’s the list of what made the cut:
First up, art books, and this one is ESSENTIAL!
So many good ideas. Best 20 bucks spent EVER!

Next are a pair of workbooks that I love having fun with:

and the book that ALWAYS inspires me (the only picture book that is coming with me!)
One more drawing workbook that I can’t wait to get through! (Made it through 3 lessons so far!)
 Ok, now writing books!
I read most of this book in its earlier form, but still love it:
If I run out of books to read (really?), I can draw inspiration from this:
a little reading on writing:
and a very practical and useful choice:

I have many more writing books, but I can’t take them all with me!
I will have Ann Whitford Paul’s book, because she will be signing it this summer!

What are your essential books for writing and making art?
Share them with me so I can get them too!

Happy Wednesday!
