A little conference game!

Maybe it’s because 3:49 in the morning as I’m writing this,
or maybe it’s because I have been hanging out with kids an awful lot this summer,
but all I can think about
is that game you can play, “I’m going to….”

With little children, I like to play, “I’m going to beach and I’m bringing…”
And you fill in from there, a word that starts with A.
You continue the game, adding a new thing each time (with the next letter!) and repeating from A all the way on.

Great little memory game.
Well, this is,
“I’m going to the conference and I’m bringing….”
But this one is all done in pictures.

Because, at 3:49 in the morning, it’s all I can do.
And it’s not in alphabetical order.
See above explanation.

Oh yeah, and I’m also bringing lots of SNACKS and NOTEBOOKS and ART SUPPLIES. DUH!!
Everything ended well.
It is now 8:28 p.m. and I’m in Long Beach at a friend’s house.
The Frenchmen finished the monkey and took necessary pictures.

(The rule is sock monkeys made MUST be pictured with Singe Singe! Also, the tradition is carried on, since FéFé, a full size sock monkey made by my housemate under my supervision a day or so ago, was also pictured with the little one, which we took to calling B-Dubs, since he/she is Blue, White, and Red for France!)

Sock monkeys, for the record, are never officially given names by the maker, just the recipient. If you make it AND keep it, well, you surely get to name it.

(Though I came up with FéFé’s name. I can’t help it if I’m a sock monkey whisperer!)

ANYWAY
They are on their plane.
After 8 hours of driving in my hot car, I’m about five pounds lighter, and I”m here and ready to go.
OOH and with some more books.
Found a few at Barnes and Nobles that I still needed to get for the autograph party!

SO excited for the conference!
It’s my second year, so should I expect weird things to be happening?
Should I check the bathrooms for any secret passageways?
Be on the lookout for abilities of mine to become apparent, say, talking to snakes?

Alright, I need to go to bed probably/get all ready for tomorrow.
Long Beach is a bit away, but totally worth it to see my friend!
That being said though, I’ve got to get up EARLY!

Hooray conference!
I promise I’ll update everyone when it’s all over….or Singe Singe will. He has to do something, right?
