KE Debt Free Paycheck #4

Hi everyone.
It’s KE DEBT FREE paycheck #4!
To learn more about this project, click here and check out the first post!

And if you’re thinking,
“Hey? What happened to post three?”
Well, NaNoWriMo happened, which I won (more on that soon)
but instead of trying to turn back time
(cue me singing: “If I could TURN BACK TIME…)
I decided to just skip.
Also, I’m going to focus on the debt paying down part,
so these posts will be shorter and I can look at a glance to see how I’m doing.

So,
here we go!

Notable for this paycheck:

One paid off! WOO HOO!
Confession:
I’ve had the 1,000 dollars for two months to pay off that loan.
But I was so ashamed to call and talk to the lady.
My mom had been getting the bill, since it was a loan for Waldorf School,
and when I applied (6 years ago almost!) I didn’t have a California address.
They had been trying to get payment from me for THREE YEARS.
Thankfully my Mom found the piece of mail and sent me the number.

I decided to just suck it up and call.
When I did, I took a deep breath and said,
“Hi, my name is Kathy Ellen Davis, and I’m really sorry about not paying this loan back, but I have the entire amount right now and I’d love to give the money back so another student can benefit.”
To my surprise, the woman was gracious and understanding. She was excited that I was paying it back and even apologized that they had the wrong address!

I felt so great paying that off!

A lot of payments were made during paycheck 3 from my expense report.

Payments this paycheck:

I’m scheduled for 256.50 for my Sunflower account,
but I’m going to take some off of my savings to pay the entire amount of
269.61 and then that one will be done too!

I keep clinging to that number, 74% of debt left.
That’s never going to get higher, just lower.
I’m excited this is happening!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
The next debt update will be on the 15th 🙂
