Around here
we’re:
Celebrating.
Danny’s done school until the end of January.
I’m really proud of him for doing such a good job
even though this is his first time in college,
and he’s been out of school since high school.
He got all his work done and expects to get great grades.
We went out to get some BBQ to celebrate.
Laughing.
I had my Christmas party with my co-workers in Southern CA
and we had a white elephant gift exchange.
Let me tell you, there were some RIDICULOUS gifts.
There was:
A foam head,
a literal white elephant,
a few porcelain figurines,
a disposable camera,
tiny toy hands,
candles, and more.
Danny ended up with The Best of Friends, Seasons 1 and 3,
while I got “See behind you glasses” and those tiny toy hands.
All in all it was a great time.
Gaming.
Danny loves playing games,
about as much as I love reading,
so, A LOT.
We had a game night this week with our neighbors,
and got to play games yesterday with one of his friends from the military
that he hasn’t seen for 9 years!
It was really fun seeing him teach the game
and reconnect with his friend.
I’ll share some of our favorite games here soon 🙂
Resting.
I still have one more week of work,
and am helping out at capoeira this week too.
Creating.
The stocking is nearly done!
(I KNOW! It’s hard to believe!)
I will give it its own post soon.
Our Christmas letter, based on the layout of CandyLand,
is also done.
Lots of making this week.
Listening
to lots of awesome podcasts still.
I can’t believe Serial is going to be over!
What will I do?
Loving all the kidlit ones too.
There are some great ones out there!
Reading.
Finished Amy Poehler’s book,
now onto Amanda Palmer’s.
Again, reporting on those soon.
Writing
Revising up a storm here, and adding in new things.
Feeling great about some of these new directions.
Looks like I have plenty to keep my blog busy!
