I can’t remember where I saw the idea
to make a photo advent calendar,
but I knew I wanted to right away.
A way to look back over the year?
So fun.
Even more fun now that Danny and I are in the same place.
For 8 months out of the year we were on separate coasts.
I knew I could just go through Instagram and find photos for our year,
and used Social Print Studio, a great way to easily print Instagram photos.
I picked out the photos and Danny hadn’t seen them yet.
When they arrived, I already had an idea what I wanted on the backs,
and I was hoping they weren’t glossy.
They were glossy,
meaning,
no using watercolor paints.
So I just had to use paper.
I have TONS of graph paper from some project I’m sure I wanted to do years ago.
It actually made it easier to cut the pieces the right size; I just did 15 squares by 15 squares.
I cut 24 of them then worked on a design..
Surprisingly, it took a while.
Then I went through the pictures to put them into order,
Writing the numbers on the back,
so Danny could help me glue the backings on.
He’s a trooper and I’m glad he helped.
He also helped set up the yarn to clip all the pictures to.
I think it turned out pretty great.
We’ve been having fun revealing one each day.
I think we’ll do this every year 🙂
Do you have any fun DIY Christmas stuff I should know about?
We’re always looking for new traditions to make 🙂
KE
Super cute, KE!
You’re so crafty. I don’t know where you find the time to do all you do!
I do things in chunks. And yeah, I love being a crafter too! I’m working on a new design for the blog that will focus on me as a maker, not just as a writer, so I can include more fun stuff. I don’t know where you find the time to blog about all the stuff you do! Still trying to get better at that! Thanks for cheering me on 🙂
