Ok, so I know there are a lot of titles mashed into that post title!
But they are all excellent books!
And the reason they have to be all together is because reading journal got a bit creative and spread across a few pages with Brown Bear.
So, books 17-21 are:
Click, Clack, Moo, Cows that type by Doreen Cronin
Inch by Inch by Leo Lionni
Brown Bear, Brown Bear, what do you see by Bill Martin Jr. and Eric Carle
Today I will fly by Mo Willems
and
Caps for Sale by Esphyr Slobodkina
So many cool things you can do with these books!
- Use Click Clack Moo to talk about typewriters, and maybe even use one! Ask your kids what they would demand! (But be prepared for the answers!)
- Make your own Brown Bear, or have the kids do it, with paper for collages and any kind of object they can think of that is that color.
- Make an inch worm who really is an inch long and measure everything in the room after reading Inch by Inch.
- After reading Today I will fly, think about other things that we cannot physically do, but how could we do them? Get ready to write down the answers that the kids give.
- Have a caps for sale relay race! Use felt to make the caps, but really just cut out circles. See who can walk with them all on top! Or act out the story as a play!
I’m telling you, these books are really fun.
I hope you have fun with them!
Until next time, write on!
