51 and 52: Diary of a Flotsam

Ok, I admit it. I’ve seen this book and I’ve kind of wanted to read it. I love the idea of a diary style book from the point of view of a boy, with tons of drawings mixed in. So I picked it up at the library. It’s not often that the first book in a series will be there, but it was. The second book is by an author/illustrator who is simply amazing. I wish I could tell stories in pictures like he does. I didn’t realize this book didn’t have words until I got it home (that can sometimes happen when you take 25 books out at once!) This may have been one that I picked just for the author, or just for the cover.

Sometimes it is fun to walk around the library and just pick a book by its cover (LITERALLY!) or by its title. This may have been one of those times.

So, the end of January 2011 saw Reading Journal reading:
Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney
and
Flotsam by David Wiesner

Diary of Flotsam

So that’s it for January!
I know I’m a bit behind, but can you really expect me to read books AND enter them in here in real time?
Not entirely possible!

Be ready for the comprehensive list of all of January’s reads tomorrow, as well as some sweet stats!
I’m also working on putting up each month’s pages in an album so it can be flipped through just like my actual journal!

Should be fun!
Until the next time, get ready for February!!
