Manic Mondays #2: Limited letters.

Welcome to Manic Mondays #2.
Today’s challenge is to write a poem using limited letters, from a phrase that is timely.
And, for the record, I didn’t suggest it!

The limited letter phrase is:
“Happy Birthday, Kathy Ellen Davis”
yes, my birthday was last week (April 5th) so my brother suggested it.
The rules were that you could only use the letters in the phrase, more than once if you want, but only as many times in one word as the letter appears in the phrase.

So, for the record, this means only using the bold letters:
A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W Y Z

Without further ado, the poems!

I need a nap!

Hit the hay, Hank Hat!
Take a dip, repair and knit;
Bed, bath, and be yarned.

VERSUS!

S I S (don’t be fooled…I could be writing about myself!)

 
Likes little Tykes,
Red Hair,
Likes Bikes,
T-AAAH-T I Their, There, and They’re,
 
She is a thinker,
A red head,
Able ta tinker,
And read,
 
Lives in debt,
Yet, she’s all set,
 
Plays the lyre,
A bad Kryier,
She ran, perspired,
She is very tired,
 
She has bile,
Likes ta tile,
Likes ta stand,
Played in band,
 
She likes ta shriek,
Never is bleak,
She is a talker,
Also a stalker,
 
She likes ta bark,
She aspire, ta be a rite-er,
And in the dark
Is a bat biter,
 
Lends a hand,
Ta peeps in need,
She plays bad in sand,
Davey say that, indeed!
 
A happy red head is she,
That likes ta drink tea,
 
I L-AAAH-VE her, I do,
This isn’t a dis,
I Kall her S I S
and also VERSUS!

Day with Dad at the lake.

Dad tipped the sand pail,
a heavy spill.
A heapy earth pile,
happy, tappy,
pat,
pat,
pat.

Dad tipped the sand pail,
A heavy spill.
A tiny, bitty, lake added.
Hippy, slippy,
splat,
splat,
splat.

All day Dad and I
Patted and splatted,
splatted and patted,
in an earthy, sandy habitat.

Dark started.
Dad and I leave,
dirty and happy and sandy.
Then bath, and bedtime,
with a tall hearty tale.
I think Dad is
pretty dandy.
