Cake toppers and unity heart

So we always knew that we wanted to have cake toppers.
There are some SUPER cute ones on Etsy.
I’m not gonna lie, we really wanted ones like this,
But we also didn’t want to spend a lot of money.
We had no vision what the cake would look like either;
we really didn’t care.
We just knew that we needed one.

At this point we read the book our friends lent us about crafting your perfect ceremony. I had read through it and I REALLY liked the idea of the unity candle. You know, two coming together as one and all that jazz. Then I read that it’s not a good idea to do it outside, because the candle might go out and no one wants THAT symbolizing anything. So that was out.

Well what if….I thought…we build a lego heart?
The greatest idea ever was born, and we rolled with it.
I looked up how to buy a lego heart.
We looked up the nearest lego store.
We built our lego heart.

And then I thought, what better to go atop the heart
than ourselves?
That’s right, US as Lego people.

I found this site that does a fantastic job giving you so many more options than you will really ever need.
We found THE PERFECT versions of us, even down to Danny’s khaki suit and his green tie.
I was SOOOO excited when we finally got them!

We looked SO CUTE!
They look just like us too.
Everyone loved the pictures of them, so we ended up doing a photo shoot of them at the spot where we got engaged.

Unfortunately the pictures aren’t super high resolution (I took them with my Iphone!) so we couldn’t use them in big prints, but we got a little picture in there on the invitation.

We also used them in an unexpected way.

Danny left in the middle of May to go back to NY.
School was over for him and he could work for his uncle
(the same work, managing asbestos removal, that he had been doing for years before he moved to California) to make some money.

The GI bill pays for his school and living expenses, but only when he’s IN SCHOOL so we thought this would be the best idea. When he left, he took little Lego Kathy Ellen with him, and I kept little Lego Danny.

We had fun posing them in ridiculous poses with things and sending them to each other. So much fun that we are going to have to get some common everyday looking ones so we can do this in the future when we are apart! Here are some fun pictures for that!

Little me hanging out with Danny’s cousin Joe.

Little Danny checking out the bus schedule.

And reading up on some classics.

Making friends

There I am, admiring the scenery.  Yes, I do ride horses!  Danny helps finish up cards, while  I help cut wedding favors!  Danny hangs out on some fries, And hopes for hair in a game. Danny   Danny learns how to surf  Then visits the Indian in the Cupboard 🙂  No surprise that he loved visiting my favorite bookstore with me!  He even got to drive the bulldozer!  And got some tips about battle!  Meanwhile, I went kayaking  and apparently scared away horses.  Danny cooled off with some dippin dots,  And even game to work with me my last few days!  I watched a few trains,  and climbed a few trees.  Danny ate some sliders,  Enjoyed a funnel cake with strawberries,  And some garlic fries. Not to be outdone, I enjoyed some cookies myself. AND chocolate.
