Reading Round up 2013, Week 13!

Reading last week
24 books, that’s what we read last week!
Ok, to be fair, two were audio books…
but still!
And A LOT of them were rando’s that I just picked off the shelf at the library!
(yes, I could have just said randoms, but rando’s is so much better! I put the apostrophe for pronunciation purposes only!)

Now look where we are:

I’m a little tired this week.
Since it’s my birthday soon, I’m having a birthday roda for capoeira.
I’ll try to get a video so you can see what I mean.

Basically I play against everyone there.
It’s tiring but fun.
I had one yesterday, and I’m going to do it with both kids classes today,
and other one with the adults class tonight.

Also I’m flying to LA on my ACTUAL birthday and going to a meeting for work,
so I’m just gonna put the books here.
For comments, check out the reviews on goodreads.

Hopefully I”m not this lazy next week!

(One note though: Katie Couric’s book is like if you asked 200 famous successful people to tell you the best bit of advice they’ve ever received…it’s like mini graduation speeches! Check it out!)

That’s right, because I’m supposed to NOT be thinking about it…

But my first PB manuscript is out on submission!
Again, I’m not supposed to think about it and worry,
but I’ve been checking my email LIKE CRAZY!

Luckily I have some fun birthday celebrations to plan so I won’t have time to worry!

Hope everyone is having a good week!

Enthusiastically yours but a little bit tired,
KE and Singe Singe 🙂

  1. Fingers and toes crossed for you, Kathy! And have the most fun ever on your B-day! I know I must be doing something wrong…because I can’t seem to find the time to just read. I loved the 31 in 31 that you organized, because I made the time to read picture books every day…perhaps I have to mount a challenge like that for myself when it comes to reading regular books.:) Any suggestions?

    1. HI Vivian!
Thanks, my birthday was super fun…you’ll see in the next post 🙂

I think making a reading challenge on goodreads has really helped me.
I can see how I’m doing and I really make time to read because I don’t want to let myself down!

Also, I know some weeks I’m busier than others, so I try to not be too hard on myself.

My advice: Start with a small goal.
Maybe two “regular” books a month?
I may have been too ambitious with the 1,000 books.
      But I’m enjoying the ride!

      1. You are obviously doing something (or many things) right, Kathy! You are totally right – starting with a small goal – or breaking down the big goal into small steps is great advice. 🙂

  2. Kathy, I have your birthday on my authors-to-celebrate calendar. No pressure to get a book published. But, you are certainly on the right track and I wish you the best of luck…and a Happy Birthday (two days early!)

    1. Thanks, Eric!
I’m thinking of birthday memories already AND (no joke!)
I just found a picture of my Mom and me on my 7th birthday and thought,
“Ok, this would be PERFECT for my future blog post!”

      Someday 🙂

    1. Thanks, Casi! I love writing them so it’s good to hear that people enjoy reading them too 🙂
