October 2014 Thankful List

I know, a little late,
but here’s my day by day thankful list for October,
from my 5 year journal:

I was thankful for:
Super creative supportive friends (met up with one in Southern CA)

working for a great company that allows me to also pursue my dreams

good stories to read
(YA event at Hicklebee’s)

friends and fireworks!
(to celebrate the Boardwalk’s 100th birthday)

Orange pens
(I used one to write in my journal)

Danny eating leftovers
(he didn’t before he met me!)

rental cars
(had to get one for work)

Danny helping me get my car back
(you really need two people to return a rental car and the pick yours back up!)

books and people who love them
(another great Hicklebee’s event)

making it through the last week
(first week back of full time work)

love and how it brings us all together
(went to a good friend’s wedding!)

relaxing day at home
(sometimes you just have to stay in!)

being appreciated for my hard work
(at a school that loves me!)

a great job and rest when I need it
(nice teachers and rest after school!)

understanding people
(late to work due to traffic, teachers were super nice)

making new book friends
(a teacher at the school and I BOTH go to Hicklebee’s!)

being friends with an amazing family
(some friends Danny and I helped babysit for)

a way to help my friend with her dream
(helping a friend who wants to get into kidlit illustration)

lots and lots of art time
(made a bunch of cool things!)

delicious dinner and leftovers
(soup is a marvelous thing!)

all the love at Hicklebee’s
(another awesome event, and I got to eat there too!)

we could have a fun night out
(going to see Neil Patrick Harris!)

a group of people I can chat books with
(love my bookclub!)

fun with my brother and making art
(playing games and creating stuff)

being so chill with kids
(Danny and I babysat again for friends kids, this time at the Boardwalk!)

a relaxing day to recover and recharge for the week
(The day before we’d done the chili cookoff from dawn until dusk!)

my kid wrangling skills
(taught two classes of capoeira today after two classes of older kids. Tired to say the least!)

New opportunities
(chatting with people about potential connections)

full but not too tiring Wednesday
(work, capo, cooking, hanging out)

half days!
(when I only have one program at work, not two. More time to do art or read!)

awesome music
(rocked out all night to my capo teacher’s band, even got on stage and sang!)

Overall,
pretty AWESOME October.
November was great too, that list coming soon!
What are you thankful for?
Tis the season to think about it, right 🙂
